Skincare Prep

If you've been following me for a while, you may already know that I'm somewhat of a skincare junky. My skin always takes a priority if I'm going out, and considering both Galentine's Day (13th) and Valentines Day are both next week, let's make sure our skin is in tip-top condition for our dates!

So here we have it, how I like to prep my face for a girls' night or date night, or just in general, to be perfectly honest!

If I've just come back in from a long day at uni or I'm restarting my makeup to redo to go out, I always make sure my skin is as on-point as it will allow (because let's be real- it has a mind of its own). I start off with some micellar water to clear off the dirt of the surface. I have been a fan of them since they became a big thing in the market about a year or so ago and my obsession is still going strong.

Now that I've got all the visible dirt and makeup off, it's time to cleanse. I've recently discovered the Soap & Glory Foam wash which is really nice and refreshing (and new). Perfect for your morning skincare routine or if your skin needs a little wake-up. I've always been a big fan of their vitamin C face wash so was so happy to hear they came out with a new one! (just a little heads up for all my UK gals- their cleansers are £5 in boots right now- you're welcome 😉) They are especially good for us oil/ combination skin girls so be sure to check them out. If you're more normal to dry skin, why not try their 'Peaches and clean' wash- it smells delish and it gentle and moisturising.

If I feel I have some dry patches that need taking care of then I tend to exfoliate. Garnier's Pure Active has always been my go to as I feel it really gets in there and helps to get rid of the flakes. I also really love the super fresh feeling you get after using it and the fact that it helps to prevent those pesky blackheads!

One thing I find super annoying about my skin is how annoyingly dry on my body yet oil on my face. It makes moisturising a nightmare! For my face, I have recently discovered Arbonne's Moisturiser, thank you to the lovely Kristina- boy do I love it! It's very lightweight which I love and doesn't feel greasy at all. I've also been using their eye gel which is great if you had a bit of a late night the night before and your eyes are showing it!

I have also been really enjoying using the Mario Badescu Facial Spray with aloe, herbs and rosewater. This is great at refreshing your skin and is also really nice to use as a setting/ priming spray. It's great for all skin types, including sensitive, since it has aloe in it and is perfect to use after a long day.

Be sure to get your girls in on this during a girls' night in or if you're all getting ready to go out together to celebrate Galentine's Day, I'm sure they'll thank you!
